Members of TDCA are unionized trade contractors operating in the ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) and Residential construction sectors in the Greater Toronto Area.
From its inception in 1959, the Association has represented this employer group in labour relations and in business and trade matters specific to the region. TDCA is also involved in promoting the use of marble, tile and natural stone in building projects and fostering cooperation and understanding amongst its members.
To be eligible for membership in the TDCA, trade contractors must be:
- qualified in the proper installation of terrazzo, tile and natural stone
- a Guild member in good standing
- located in the Brick and Allied Craft Union of Canada (BACU) Local 31 jurisdictional area generally bounded by:
- Lake Ontario to the south, Hamilton to the west, Gravenhurst to the north and Peterborough to the east

TDCA members are on the leading edge of the terrazzo, tile and natural stone trade bringing expertise, progressive methods and competitiveness to high profile projects as diverse as Terminal One at the Lester B. Pearson International Airport, the award-winning Bramalea City Centre in Brampton and the Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre in Mississauga.
The Airport project included:
- 7.5 acres of granite slab flooring, a joint venture between Terrazzo, Mosaic & Tile Co. Limited and Gem Campbell Terrazzo & Tile Inc.
- 30,000 square metres of epoxy terrazzo floor installed by York Marble Tile & Terrazzo Inc. and Maple Terrazzo, Marble & Tile Inc.
- 9,755 square metres of epoxy terrazzo in the 12,600-space parking garage by the crew from Castlewall Marble and Tile Inc.
The scale of these projects is an indication of the scope TDCA contractors bring to the table.
